Blind Veteran Paul Jacobs at Everest Base Camp. The start of an 18-day climb to the peak. Paul has become the first blind war veteran to achieve climbing Everest.

Base camp is at a manageable altitude of 5,380m above sea level whereas the summit of Everest in the Himalayas is at 8,848m.

Marie and Laura are both  Military  Intensive Care Nurses from the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham.

Their idea of trekking to Everest Base Camp was to raise funds for Troop Aid as well as a really great experience for both of them. They were also aware of the valuable work done by Troop Aid. The amount raised was just over  £3,000.

The Trustees of Troop Aid wish to say a huge thank you to  Marie and Laura for their amazing efforts.
