On 14 March 2025, Al Sutton was honoured to be invited to attend the passing-out parade of Musician Neve Lawrence. Neve has a long-standing connection with Troop Aid, having first joined the charity as a volunteer at just 16 years of age while she was a student at St Peter’s School in Solihull. Visit to see Survitec packing Grab Bags
During October 2025, Kim, Al and Pam visited a company called Survitec who make survival equipment, based in Ellesmere Port.
The purpose of this visit was to oversee the staff packing approximately 300 Troop Aid Grab Bags as part of their Corporate Responsibility initiative known as Purpose Day.

Solihull Mayor Visits Troop Aid
Troop Aid was very honoured to have the Mayor of Solihull Councillor Shahin Ashraf MBE to visit us this week.
She wrote a Get Well card to go in one of our emergency packs, which will shortly be sent to an injured Armed Forces member.
Shahin Ashraf MBE is a British humanitarian leader, advocate, and local politician known for her extensive community, charity and civic work – especially in Solihull.

Dr Neil Shastri-Hurst MP recently visited our Troop Aid offices.

Visit to Troop Aid Warehouse
We were honoured to have a visit from blinded war veteran Paul and his partner Renata to our warehouse.
Great to see you Paul and really looking forward to working with you.
Troop Aid have known Paul since he was injured in Afghanistan in 2009. We first met Paul in his hospital bed at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham where we supported him with our emergency packs and many other pieces of kit to help him in his hour of need.

Troop Aid had an amazing weekend at the Birmingham International Tattoo – our first year at The Resorts World.

Armed Forces Day at the National Memorial Aboretum
TROOP AID attended the Sunday event at the NMA.
We gave a lot of people some information about the charity and made a number of excellent contacts. We had a full complement of volunteers, namely Kim Freeman, Diana Frangou, Katherine Carter, Pam Sutton and our Chairman Al Sutton.
